Located near the Mississippi State University campus, the Cotton District was once the site of a cotton mill and associated worker housing, but now the District is known for its unique, locally owned restaurants, shops, nightspots, and the popular Cotton District Arts Festival held annually on the third Saturday in April.
While in Starkville, plan a visit to L’uva Wine Room to enjoy wines from renowned vineyards and boutique wineries. L’uva, which is located near the Cotton District, also offers a diverse selection of charcuterie boards, flatbreads, and more to complement your wine selections.
Mississippi’s premier shopping destination, Renaissance at Colony Park, combines local boutiques, specialty stores, and renowned national stores in an elegant and inviting environment. The upscale European-inspired open-air center also features fine dining and fast-casual restaurants and a state-of-the-art movie theater.
BellaChes is a locally owned specialty gift store located at the Renaissance at Colony Park. The shop’s carefully curated inventory includes unique glassware, home decor, elegant candles, jewelry, books, seasonal items, and more.
Cat Island Coffeehouse and Pass Christian Books share a cozy two-story building facing the Mississippi Sound in Pass Christian. It’s a perfect place to jumpstart your day with a hot or cold barista beverage and pick up the perfect page-turner to take to the beach, too.
Cruisin’ Tikis take the typical beach boat tour to a whole new level, with tiki-themed boats, ice-cold beverages (BYOB), and fun tropical music. Four different cruises are available, piloted by an experienced captain, for groups of up to six people.
