The Baby Doll House
The Baby Doll House, also known as The Burrus House and later Hollywood Plantation, was constructed by John C. Burrus in 1861, standing as a significant historical landmark. Settling in the county in the 1830s, Burrus established a plantation and later built Hollywood, which served as his family’s residence. Today, it stands as the only fully restored antebellum home in Bolivar County. Additionally, it gained fame as the filming location for the 1956 movie “Baby Doll” and now operates as a special events venue and museum.
