GRAMMY Museum Mississippi and Our State’s History

The mission of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is “to provide unique learning opportunities based on the enduring legacies of all forms of music; the entire creative and technological processes of recording; and the history of the GRAMMY Awards with a focus on the continuing achievements of Mississippians.” Since its opening on March 5, 2016, visitors have been able to experience our state’s rich history in blues, country, rock-and-roll, pop, and other genres and learn about legendary Mississippi-born musicians including:

  • Muddy Waters

GRAMMY Museum Mississippi’s grand opening was made possible by the Cleveland Music Foundation, a non-profit specifically developed to construct the museum and oversee its operations.

Spread across 28,000 square feet on Delta State University’s campus, GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is home to a state-of-the-art soundstage with seating for 130 people, educational and public programs such as summer day camps, and over two dozen interactive exhibits, including:
